ABSTRACT DRAWING AND PAINTING WORKSHOP

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE

This is a PROCESS oriented approach to creating as opposed to a product approach. This is a PHYSICAL/DYNAMIC process, as opposed to a mental or critical one. AUTOMATIC DRAWING creating spontaneously, intuitively and animatedly. DRAWING IN THE ZONE where drawing whole heartedly becomes a moving meditation creating the possibility for transformation. Connect with your creative Potential “THE JUICE”  Strengthen your intuitive muscles “THE MYSTERY” Learn to take RISKS, fearless expression, become a “CREATIVE WARRIOR” Develop your own drawing and painting style “AUTHENTICITY” Connect with your “INNER ARTIST” Learn to face and break through creative blocks, create “OUTSIDE THE BOX”.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS

Crayons, both water resistant and watercolor

Oil Pastels

Compressed charcoal

Erasers

Conte, black plus various other colors if desired 

Black and white gesso

Recommended water based paints, acrylic, tempera, watercolor and gouache are not appropriate because of the size of the drawings. 

Various size brushes (economical) Jerry’s, Blicks or Home Depot

Blue masking tape

Paper towels

Disposable gloves

Cutting tools scissors, box cutter
